Home / Fridge Cleaning

Deep cleaning · sanitising · deodorising

A deep clean that reaches where smells start.

Spilled milk under the crisper, mould in the door seal, a blocked drain and a dusty condenser — our deep-clean service strips the fridge down, cleans every part properly and leaves it colder and fresher than before.

Products & safety

Food-safe, fragrance-free, and nothing harsh.

The inside of a fridge touches your food, so we don’t use bleach, strong solvents or perfumed sprays there. We use a food-contact-safe cleaner for the cabinet and shelves, a mild sanitiser for the gasket folds and drain, and bicarbonate-based deodorising for lingering smells.

For heavy mould on a door gasket we use a targeted treatment and, where the seal is too far gone, recommend a replacement rather than scrubbing it to pieces. For households with infants, elderly people or anyone with allergies, tell us when you book and we will use unscented products throughout.

  • Food-contact-safe cleaners inside
  • Unscented options on request
  • Separate cloths for inside and outside
  • Gloves changed between fridge and freezer

Before we arrive

How to prepare for a deep clean

A little preparation keeps your food safe and shortens the visit.

  1. Use up or move perishable food a day ahead where you can.
  2. Have a cool box, insulated bags or a neighbour’s fridge ready for items that must stay cold.
  3. Clear the floor space in front of the fridge and, if possible, behind it.
  4. Tell us if the freezer has thick ice — we may ask you to switch it off a few hours early.
  5. Keep children and pets away from the working area.

How often

Recommended cleaning intervals

Households — a full deep clean every six months, with a quick wipe of spills and a check of the gasket every month.

Families storing lots of fish and meat — every four months; raw protein drips are the fastest route to odour.

Restaurants, cafés and shops — every three months, with condenser coils cleaned more often in dusty locations near roads.

Before moving house or after a long power cut — clean and sanitise before restocking.

Between visits

Five habits that keep a fridge fresh

  • Store raw meat and fish on the lowest shelf in sealed containers
  • Wipe spills the same day, before they dry and spread
  • Keep an open box of baking soda on a middle shelf and change it monthly
  • Don’t overfill — cold air needs space to move
  • Check the date labels weekly and clear anything past its best
