Common faults we repair
Across the fridges we open every week, the pattern is clear: most breakdowns come down to a short list of components. Here is what each one does and how it fails.
These help the compressor start and protect it from overheating. When they fail you hear a click every few minutes but no cooling. A cheap part, often mistaken for a dead compressor.
Tells the compressor when to run. A stuck thermostat either never switches on (warm fridge) or never switches off (frozen vegetables and high bills).
On no-frost fridges this fan pushes cold air from the freezer into the fridge. If it stops, the freezer stays cold and the fridge section slowly warms.
Melts frost off the evaporator several times a day. A failure lets ice block the airflow, which looks like a cooling fault but isn’t.
A torn or hardened seal lets warm, humid air in. The result is frost, condensation, a compressor that never rests and a higher electricity bill.
They release heat from the fridge. Dust and grease make the compressor run hot — a major cause of failure during Dhaka summers.
Modern fridges rely on NTC sensors and a PCB. A drifting sensor can confuse the whole system; voltage spikes can damage boards.
Loose connections, rodent damage and moisture cause trips and intermittent faults. We check insulation and earth on every repair.

A Dhaka problem
Power cuts followed by an immediate restart are one of the most common reasons we replace relays, overloads and even compressors. When power returns, the compressor tries to start against high pressure before it has equalised, draws a heavy current and trips — again and again.
Low and fluctuating voltage in the evening makes it worse. We recommend a good-quality automatic voltage stabiliser with a start-delay function for non-inverter fridges, and we can advise on the right rating for your model during the visit.
Repair FAQ
Most household repairs are completed at your home. Board-level PCB repair and some sealed-system work on large side-by-side fridges may need the part or the fridge at our Uttara workshop; we arrange transport and quote it separately.
Ninety days on labour and on the parts we fit, for the same fault. Compressor replacements carry the compressor manufacturer’s warranty in addition. Full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Contact the manufacturer or dealer first — opening the fridge could affect that warranty. Call us once it has expired or if the manufacturer cannot help.
We use genuine parts where they are available in Bangladesh, and good-quality tested equivalents where they are not. The quote tells you which, and we return old parts to you on request.
